How This Directory Works
Free Things To Do In Krakow is a directory of experiences that cost nothing to join. The 18 walking tours listed here are free, pay what you want: a visitor reserves a place, walks with the guide, and tips at the end whatever the walk was worth. Every tour belongs to an independent local guide. Reservations happen on GuruWalk, or on freetour.com for the walks listed there, and this site operates no tours and sells nothing.
Which Walks Are Listed, And Why
The directory lists 18 free walking tours across four categories: Old Town And Wawel Walks, Old Town History Walks, Kazimierz And Jewish Quarter Walks, and Ghetto, Podgorze And WWII Walks. Each walk has its own page. Most are GuruWalk listings, and the rest are listed on freetour.com.
Reviews matter too. A walk with fewer than 20 reviews on its platform is not featured in card comparisons, though it keeps its page: Oleksandr's history walk and Tomasz's ghetto walk are examples. The featured set is reserved for walks with a real review history behind them, which is why some pages stand alone.
The freetour.com listings are named as freetour.com listings wherever they appear: City Walks Krakow's World War Two walk, Hola Cracovia's Old Town walk in Spanish, I Love Praag's complete Old Town and Wawel walk, and Tomasz Łyczko's Plaszow camp walk. The rest are GuruWalk listings, and the two platforms are never mixed up.
How The Facts Are Checked
Every free-entry claim on this site rests on a named source. Krakow mixes the two constantly: Wawel Hill's grounds and the Arcaded Courtyard are free while the castle exhibitions are ticketed, and St Mary's Basilica offers a free prayer entrance while the tourist visit and the tower are ticketed. A conditionally free attraction is never called simply free; the condition travels in the same sentence or the next.
How The Walks Are Checked
Nobody connected to this site has taken these walks. What is checked is the walk's own page on GuruWalk or freetour.com: the guide or operator running it, the meeting point, the district, the languages and the duration. No walk's page declares a separate required cost, so no walk here is described as carrying extra charges. Where a page says something different from what appears here, the walk's own page wins.
How A Walk Earns Its Page Here
A walk earns a page by being a real, bookable walk on GuruWalk or freetour.com, run by a named guide or operator with a stated meeting point in a named district. The walk must be free, pay what you want, with no separate required cost declared. Walks that run only in Polish or Italian are left out entirely, and so is anything this site cannot match to a live page on either platform.
Where Each Walk's Rating Comes From
Every rating and review count is printed on its own scale, exactly as its platform shows it. GuruWalk walks rate out of 5, so Krakow Explorers' Old Town and Wawel walk is rated 4.86 out of 5 across 6,990 GuruWalk reviews. freetour.com walks rate out of 10 and are never converted: City Walks Krakow's World War Two walk is rated 9.6 out of 10 across 1,861 reviews. No figure on this site is invented or rounded.
Why No Walk Carries A Price Tag
Free, pay what you want is the price. Every walk here is reserved at no charge, and the tip is decided afterwards by the walker, based on what the walk was worth. That is why no money figure, no from price and no suggested tip appears anywhere against a walk. The site never sends a reader off to check a price, because there is none to check.
The Free-Entry Facts Behind Each Attraction
Every attraction entry states its own entry terms. A place that is free only under certain conditions is never called simply free: the condition sits in the same sentence. Wawel Hill's grounds and the Arcaded Courtyard are free, while the castle exhibitions are ticketed. Museum free days differ branch by branch, so no single rule is written across them.
What This Site Leaves Out
How This Site Earns
Nothing about the money changes what appears on the page. A walk is included because it is free, pay what you want and listed on GuruWalk or freetour.com, not because one platform pays better than another. The ratings, the review counts and the scales are printed as each platform publishes them.
