Affiliate Disclosure
This page sets out, in plain terms, how this site pays its way. Every walk listed here belongs to an independent local guide who publishes it on GuruWalk or freetour.com, and every reservation happens on the platform, never here. The site sells nothing, operates nothing and takes no booking fee. The rest of this page explains the single revenue stream and everything it cannot buy.
How This Site Earns
The income is affiliate commission, and it comes from one source: the walking tours. When a visitor reserves a free spot on a guide's GuruWalk page or on a freetour.com walk through a link here, the platform pays this site a commission. The visitor pays nothing extra for it. Every walk is free, pay what you want, and the tip goes to the guide.
That commission is the only revenue this site has. There are no sponsored placements, no paid rankings and no advertising. A walk appears in the directory because it exists on GuruWalk or freetour.com and can be reserved there, not because anyone paid for its position. No other platform is linked.
Nothing on this site costs the visitor a booking fee, a service charge or a subscription. Reserving a walk means claiming a free spot on the guide's own page on GuruWalk or on freetour.com, and the walk itself is free, pay what you want. The commission, when one is earned, is paid by the platform to this site. It is not added to anything the visitor hands over.
What This Site Pays For, And What It Doesn't
This site operates no tour, employs no guide and takes no payment of any kind. The walks belong to independent local guides, each published on GuruWalk or freetour.com, and each free to reserve with the tip decided by the walker at the end. When a reservation is made through a link here, the platform may pay this site a commission. The visitor's walk costs the same either way, because free, pay what you want is the price.
The rest of the site follows the same rule. A museum's free day is stated only when the museum itself sets one, and the condition travels with the claim: Schindler's Factory on Mondays, the Eagle Pharmacy on Wednesdays, the National Museum's permanent exhibitions on Tuesdays. Where an attraction is ticketed, the page says so. Nothing is upgraded to catch a click.
What No Payment Can Change Here
- No walk can buy a better position. The order reflects category and detail, never a payment.
- No guide can pay for placement. Every rating comes from GuruWalk or freetour.com, printed with its own scale.
- No museum, restaurant or shop can buy a mention on any page here.
- No review count is inflated. The figures are GuruWalk's and freetour.com's own, stated as they stand.
- No free claim is stretched. A conditionally free sight is never called simply free, and Wawel Cathedral, whose status is contested between sources, is never described as free at all.
Where Each Figure Comes From
Ratings are the platforms' own numbers, not this site's opinion. GuruWalk walks rate out of 5 and freetour.com walks rate out of 10, and the two scales are never converted into each other. A walk rated 4.86 across 6,990 reviews on GuruWalk and a walk rated 9.6 across 1,861 reviews on freetour.com are both printed as they stand, each with its own scale named.
The same discipline applies to entry rules. Free days are stated per branch, because Krakow's museums do not share one: Schindler's Factory and the Town Hall Tower on Mondays, Rynek Underground on Tuesdays, the Eagle Pharmacy on Wednesdays, MOCAK's collection on Thursdays. Wawel Cathedral is contested between sources and is never called free here. Where a sight is ticketed, the page says ticketed.
Krakow Does Not Need This Site
Every free thing described here is free whether or not this site exists. Wawel Hill's grounds and the Arcaded Courtyard cost nothing, the Main Market Square costs nothing, the hejnal sounds over the square for free, and Krakus Mound and Wanda Mound can be climbed without a ticket. The site points at these places. It does not price them, run them or gate them.
The same goes for the walks. Each of the 18 tours listed here can be reserved directly on GuruWalk or freetour.com without passing through this site at all. If every link here disappeared tomorrow, the guides would still meet their groups, the museums would still open their free doors on their own days, and the hejnal would still play. This site is a signpost, not a stop.
